Custom Steel Tube Bending
Custom Steel Tubing & Fabrication Services
Strong, stable, and low in cost, steel tubing is ideal for tough industrial and structural applications that require durable materials that won’t break the bank. With extremely high tensile strength, steel tubing is resistant to most bending, shock, and changes in pressure. Steel is also resistant to rust and chemicals, making it a suitable material option for outdoor applications and harsh operating environments.
For over 30 years, Triad Products has been a leader in medium volume metal tube bending & fabrication. We focus on small to medium production runs ranging from 100 to 1000 pieces to accommodate projects and design variations that can’t be handled by other tube bending operations. Join the hundreds of OEMs coast to coast who consistently rely on Triad Products as their single source supplier for bent steel tubing. View custom options below. Steel Tube Bending Techniques & Methods
Each of the following methods uses a different type of tooling setup to achieve the desired bend. Whether it’s a slight angle or a tight coil, our qualified engineering experts know how to bend steel tubing to your exact specifications. We use specialized equipment and processes to prevent wrinkling, collapsing, or other damage.
- Rotary Draw Bending: Uses tooling to provide varying degrees of bending while maintaining a constant center line radius. Ideal for high precision bending.
- Roll Bending: a series of rollers applies pressure to the metal to achieve various roll bent styles, including pyramid style, double pinch style, and three-roll push style.
- Madrel Bending: Uses a clamp to hold a tube in place while it is bent around a die. Should only be used for applications that do not require a tight radius.
- Ram Bending: Uses a hydraulic ram and pivot block or roller to slowly bend segments of the metal until the desired radius is reached. This process tends to be the easiest of the four, but provides the least control.
While steel is a strong and inexpensive material, it is much heavier than aluminum and does not provide the same shiny finish as aluminum and stainless steel tubing. If weight or aesthetics are a priority, steel might not be the right option for your application. If you are unsure which process or material will work best with your project requirements, contact us, and we will assist you.

Custom Steel Tubing for Propane and Oil Lines
Custom steel tubes provide the durability and corrosion resistance required for oil and gas line applications. We bend steel tubing to create delivery lines for propane and oil used to operate grills, heaters, and other small appliances. Here is a 1” Steel Tube Oil Drain Line with silver soldered 3/8 steel flanges, used in a large OEM industrial engine.
Bending Steel Tubes to Create Customized Handles
Steel tubes can be bent in various configurations to make large custom handles for equipment, portable appliances, equipment cases or small tool handles. This large steel handle surrounds an OEM Equipment Case, allowing it to be handled in any position. The ½” Steel tubing includes multi-radius tube bending and secondary operations.
Circular Steel Tube Cooling Coils
Steel cooling coils can be manufactured in various configurations including lines, loops, and square or circular coils, depending on the cooling application. This circular steel tube cooling coil is made from 1/4'' OD steel tubing and is used to reduce the temperature of castings. This part was re-designed by Triad to improve the cooling.
